Well I’m stuck here in Kuwait for at least a week. Life could be worse, I could be in Iraq still. This screws up a planned event or two, and cost a lot of families money and time they’ll never get back, but at least we’ll be home at some point in the future. I hope, for the sake of those that will still be in this unit during the next rotation, that they finally figure out how to plan the redeployment piece. For me, we’re definitely a no-go at redeploying.
YAY!!! Anthony is safe and sound ON AMERICAN SOIL . . in fact . . . he is in the car, heading to his barracks at Ft. Benning as I write!!! His family is with him, and . . . I REMEMBER our reunion w/Tyler when he got back from Iraq . . . there is NO SWEETER time!!!
Thank you, Lord, for bringing this WONDERFUL young man home!!! Now . . . it won’t be long before he will be able to get on with his CIVILIAN LIFE . . .and . . .from what I hear . . . he has A LOT planned!!
God bless you, Anthony . . . and I pray your future will be better than you could ever anticipate!!!
WELCOME HOME, SOLDIER!!! We are nothing but THRILLED to have you back in the fold of your family . . . and your country.

Glad to hear you are finally home. I have been checking your blog every day waiting to hear that you safely made it to US soil. These past years flew past really fast. (Not fast enough with you in Iraq though!). It seems just yesterday that you were busy loading ammo in your bedroom, then just as fast you popped yourself into the .Mil, and thankfully you have safely made it back to civilian life.
I’m sure you are a different person in a lot of ways than you were before you went in. Thinking back to years ago, I sure have become a different person in the same amount of time as well. I guess that’s all part of being young one day, and then the next day you realize that you aren’t so young anymore.
Maybe I will see you in chat or AIM soon.
